Dualling the 15.6 mile (25.0 km) Dalraddy to Slochd project includes three new grade-separated junctions at Aviemore, Granish and Black Mount and four new left-in/left-out junctions together with a new crossing over the River Dulnain and a new railway bridge over the Highland Main Line at Slochd Beag. It also includes new underpasses for non-motorised users and modifications and improvements to footpaths and cycleways.
The estimated total scheme cost for this project is £713m at April 2023 prices.
The Dalraddy to Slochd is expected to be a particularly challenging project to construct due to constraints caused by the local geology, proximity of the railway and areas of peat.
